Challenge
One of the busiest international airports required our support to design, document and trial new operational processes to be implemented at their new terminal that at the time was still under construction. Further challenges arose when delays in the terminals construction meant it would be live before building was completed, requiring our team to develop processes that accommodated these delays.
Solution
Our Operational readiness team working in partnership with the host airport and the numerous other stakeholders involved in the project to produce a product that was compliant with all international regulations and fit for purpose. The strong working relationships of the Operational Readiness team we embedded within the clients organization ensured we were efficiently able to develop “Work Around” processes and provide additional staff to compensate for the impact the delay in construction would have and mitigate our client’s potential financial exposure
Result
Our team successfully integrated people processes and systems to ensure front of house operations were in place from the day the terminal went live, delivering over 200 operational processes and 44 contingency processes. The ‘Work around’ processes we were able to implement enabled the construction work to be completed alongside the successful; opening of the terminals commercial operations.
